Cute and useful, but very difficult to clean

They look cute and very useful to get my dog to slow down when eating her food. I love the suction plates, which not only make it easy for my dog when she's licking it, but also allow me to put it up on the window for drying & storage. But it's extremely difficult to clean them. I use a toothbrush and usually brush them for minutes with soap, and still there will be visible residuals remaining in the folds. The yellow one is relatively ok, the blue one is a nightmare to clean.
